Difference between the two injectables

People are often confused by the difference between botulinum toxins, such as Botox, and the various fillers on the market. While fillers are used to add volume, fill lines and wrinkles, Botox blocks the nerve signals that tell muscles to contract, and thereby relax expression lines and wrinkles.

The choice of which product to use will depend on what type of wrinkles and areas you are aiming to treat. Botox can be used to relax lines related to active facial expressions, located in the upper section of the face such as the forehead and around the eyes, while fillers can be used to fill the deeper lines that are visible even when the face is relaxed. Fillers are also used to add volume where necessary and enhance facial features such as lips, the jawline, and cheeks.

Patients can opt for a combination of Botox to reduce wrinkles and frown lines, and fillers to soften deeper lines and add depth to their face. Novomed Center’s team of experts have decades of experience in administering Botox and fillers and can advise you on the best options based on your appearance, wishes, and budget.
