What is Saxenda?

Saxenda 3 mg is an injectable prescription medication that may help adult patients who have excess weight, and adult patients who have weight-related problems. This injectable prescription medication is FDA-approved. If it is added to a low-calorie meal plan that is accompanied by an increased exercise routine, Saxenda may help to lose weight and keep it off.

 Indications and Usage:

Adult patients with a starting body mass index (BMI) of 27 or greater (overweight), or a BMI of 30 or greater (obesity) who have at least one existing weight-related comorbid condition such as:

• Hypertension
• Type 2 diabetes mellitus
• Dyslipidemia

Saxenda is taken once daily, at any time, without food.

It is injected under the skin into the upper arm, abdomen, or thigh and must never be injected into the vein or muscle. Never share your Saxenda pen or needles with another person.
